Install Assessor Series Applications from the Internet

You may download and install Assessor Series™ software databases if you have a valid License Code.

 

If your organization/employer has set up "firewalls", you may not be able to download an executable file (*.exe) from the Internet.

 

To Install Assessor Series Applications from the Internet

  1. Before beginning the download and installation process, please close all programs on your computer, with the exception of the Windows operating system.

  2. Log on to your Internet browser and go to www.erieri.com. Click on the Dataset Updates link at the top of ERI's web site. (You may also reach this site via ERI's Platform Library or any of the Assessor Series applications via the Internet menu.

  3. A notice may display informing you that any datasets you download will automatically be installed to existing ERI directories on your computer's hard drive. Click the Close button.

  4. On the "Data Updates" web page, scroll down to the section entitled "Single Quarterly Dataset Updates." Click on the file name you wish to download. (Example: If you would like to update the Salary Assessor®, click the Win SA link.) Please note: Each Assessor Series application must be downloaded separately.

  5. From the "File Download" dialog box, select the "Save" or "Save this program to disk" option. (Please note: "Save this program to disk" refers to saving the installation file to your computer's hard disk, or hard drive. A diskette is not required.)

  6. From the "Save As" dialog box, click the down arrow next to the "Save In" field, then in the drop-down box, select "Desktop".

    The file name will automatically be entered for you. The files are named as follows:

     

        Salary Assessor software and databases - sawinins.exe

        Geographic Assessor® software and databases - gawinins.exe

        Relocation Assessor® software and databases - rawinins.exe

        Executive Compensation Assessor™ software and databases - xawinins.exe

     

    Make certain that the "Save as type" field has "Application" selected.

     

    If all of the information is correct, please click the Save button.

     

  7. The download process will begin. This process can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes, depending on your computer's processor speed and type of Internet connection.

  8. From the "Download Complete" dialog box, please click the Close button.

  9. Double-click the new icon on your Windows Desktop to begin the installation process.

  10. Please follow the instructions on the installation prompts as they appear on your screen.
