Severance Pay - Canada

FEDERAL EMPLOYEES

Employees engaged in federal work, employed over 12 consecutive months, are entitled to the greater of:

1. two days wages for each year of service, or

2. five days wages.

ONTARIO

Where 50 or more persons are terminated in a six month period of time, the employer must pay employees employed, 5 years or more, one week's pay for each year of service up to a maximum of 26 weeks' pay.
